Accounts Manager (Full-time)

Our growing IT solution and services business is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager who can support the business through the development, management and execution of strategic activities on named accounts. This role is responsible for contributing to business development, supporting leadership, and assisting in developing and executing marketing programs.

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal skills; who is able to manage customer relationships and projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

Account Planning and Management:

  • Conduct business development, marketing, and communications activities that promote awareness of the company, the solutions, and the services to leverage business growth
  • Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecasting, planning, and closing processes used within the organization
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organizations
  • Set up meetings between client and company’s practice leaders/principals
  • Plan sales approaches and pitches. Work with technical team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service
  • Track and record sales activity on accounts to close deals and to meet company objectives and sales targets
  • Maintain knowledge of current market conditions, changes, trends and opportunities
  • Independently maintain knowledge of the technology industry. Attend designated training required by DLS. Have the ability to understand and determine technology opportunities and create solutions around customer needs.

Relationship Management:

  • Develops and manages strategic relationships with key accounts, vendors and industry partners.
  • Supports the facilitation of relationship building, planning and execution with key stakeholders in their portfolio
  • Works with team to develop and track the client relationship strategy, and plan touch point actions to strengthen relationships
  • Deploys Marketing and Communications campaigns/Account Based Marketing for the account
  • Develops an understanding of services and solutions to determine which initiatives would be of relevance and importance to key stakeholders/decision makers
  • Perform client and market research to support the creation of sales specific collateral for client meetings
  • Develop targeted account level marketing and events planning for key relationships
  • Leverage firm marketing activities for key relationship development

Proposal and Resource Management:

  • Lead and manage the Request for Proposals (RFP) process and execution related to key accounts
  • Collaborates with technical team to leverage DLS resources as required on large opportunities
  • Identify customer requirements to coordinate the resource recruitment process

Requirements:

  • A university degree in business, marketing, computer science or related field
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in account management or business development, experience in selling to the Government of Canada (an asset)
  • Knowledge in the information technology industry
  • Proven detail oriented, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client service skills as a must
  • Self-starter, independent and proactive
  • Collaborative – he/she will be an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong delivery – proven track record in delivering high quality projects and initiatives in a matrix environment
  • Financial and analytical skills – ability to analyze and interpret financial, market and client data
  • Influence and management skills – ability to facilitates effective meetings, effectively influences partners and team members
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Assets:

  • Experience within an IT professional services firm
  • Knowledge of Government of Canada procurement process
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Verbal and written communication skills in French
